
Based on wikipedia superstition is a credulous belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. The word is often used pejoratively to refer to folk beliefs deemed irrational. This leads to some superstitions being called "old wives' tales". It is also commonly applied to beliefs and practices surrounding luck,prophecy and spiritual beings, particularly the irrational belief that future events can be foretold by specific unrelated prior events.
5 supersitions in Malaysian culture
- Numbers play a large part for the human beings that included in the all superstitions, and They are an important part of superstition in any culture and are very significant within Chinese culture. In the Chinese culture they are believed that the car number 8 is a sign of good fortune and it is means prosperity for them. Moreover, they also believed they the number of 4 it have a similar tone to the Chinese character for death. A few other numbers that are considered lucky in Chinese culture are 9 and 6.
- Another superstition in the Chinese culture is about the Chinese New Year. The important things in their culture are have to clean the house before Chinese New Year’s day to get the luck in the coming year. However, never clean the house on the Chinese New year’s day, which as it signifies sweeping all of your good luck out of the house and Sharp objects are not supposed to be used during New Year's Day because it symbolizes cutting of good fortune. Chinese also believed that wearing the red clothes in the Chinese New year it symbolizes for them brings most of luck.
- Malay culture their superstitions is mostly about shaman, as known as “bomoh” or “pawang” in Malay. Shaman is almost part of our national health service. Usually people meet shaman to get the Spiritual therapy for the treatment of spiritual and psychological conditions, including obsession, panic, depression, insomnia, and magic spells.
- Malay also believed that if a lady sings while cooking, she will marry the old man.
- For the indian culture the they have their own supersition such as the right eye twitching is good for men, either left eye twitching is good for women..

in my opinion, these superstitions should not be practise anymore especially for malay culture because it can influence people to believe in other things than GOD.
